Summer is halfway done, but wedding season is in full force over here!
There’s so many beautiful photos that I cannot wait to share with you.
A few months back, I had the awesome opportunity to photograph Ashtyn & David’s engagement photos! I photographed David’s senior photos at the beginning of my career (this made me feel OLD.) so I was completely honored when he asked me to photograph his and Ashtyn’s wedding day.
These two are the sweetest. Ashtyn’s kind and bubbly personality perfectly compliments David’s quiet and gentle nature. It’s obvious to see that these two bring out the best in each other. We shot in the beautiful wooded hills of San Diego. Though this location is gorgeous, it’s Ashtyn & David’s love that really shines through. Just see for yourselves!
“We met at The College of Idaho in January 2015- I was a freshman and David was a sophomore. We were in the same music class during winter term. I hadn’t the slightest understanding of music, while David on the other hand, was quite skilled in this department. We started talking and David often helped me with my homework. We spent many hours studying (a.k.a talking, laughing, and becoming friends). After about a month, I agreed to go on a date with him. I was goofy and free-spirited and he was calm and sophisticated. I guess opposites do attract! Over the past 3 years, we’ve had our fair share of doubts and dramatic arguments but never did these out weigh our adventures, laughs, and butterfly-filled bellies! We are overjoyed to spend the rest of our lives making memories together!”
“Ashtyn is a perfectionist in every aspect of her life. This is my favorite thing about her because she is always striving to find ways to strengthen our relationship and the relationships around her. She loves others even when they don’t deserve it. I love this about her because it gives me the confidence in knowing that even when we are at our worst, she will always be there for me.”
“She has encouraged me to not stress out about things. Before I met her, I would let the smallest things ruin my day because of how much they would stress me out. She has helped me to put my trust in the Lord and stop being so anxious.”
“David never aims to be the center of attention or the life of the party, but he’s the guy you want to wake up and make breakfast with every morning. He’s thoughtful and respectful. He takes the time to build strong, lasting relationships. He’s my best friend and nobody understands me like he does.”
“David proposed on Christmas morning. He wrapped the ring in what appeared to be a huge box but turned out to be a box within a box, within another box, all the way down to a tiny ring box. At first I thought it was going to be something funny and was very confused. Once I was holding a small box, I realized what was happening and started laughing/crying. Taking the box from me, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of his whole family!”
“I became a Christian almost 3 years ago and David has challenged and encouraged me to grow in my faith in so many ways. God used David to bring me to Him. I have learned to love and trust deeper because of God’s perfect example and David’s friendship and support.”
