Hello Friends!

Niki and I had the honor and pleasure of shooting Erica and Josh’s engagement photos last weekend!
What a fun couple!  It was so nice getting to know these two and learning why Pasadena plays such an important role in their love story.  I absolutely love the way Erica tells it.

Josh and I met through Eharmony and our first date was in Pasadena, CA on May 23, 2014.   Our first date included many laughs and great stories, a horrible piece of chocolate cake and it became the beginning of many great moments.  In this past year and a half, we have travelled to many places, gone on many hikes, walked many beaches , explored many eateries, laughed till our stomachs hurt, fell in love and became best friends.  We are excited to continue this journey as husband and wife and are thrilled to share this special day with our loved ones.

The little hidden pathways that downtown Pasadena has to offer are so great!  I can’t.

Josh was pretty adamant about going hiking on 9/19 (the hottest day of the year!!!). My body shuts down when it gets above 90 degrees. I was pretty hesitant, but he was persistent. Our hike started at the base of Temescual canyon at 9am – a place we hike often. As we are hiking up the mountain we have discussions about our future and where we will live and so forth. It was already unbearably hot and my mood was changing quickly! Hahah He insisted we take another route because of a better view. It was secluded and the view was gorgeous! He asked me to hold his backpack so he can get something out. He turned me around and got on his knee. He then proceeded to ask me to marry him.

Erica and Josh brought along their furry family member, Toby.  I still can’t get over how well behaved and gentle this little guy is.  What a perfect addition to these images.  And so dapper with that bow!

After a quick outfit change, we made our way over to the City Hall in Pasadena.  What a beautiful backdrop for this already stunning couple.

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT Justin

I've always been drawn to all things creative, but didn't pick up a camera until my senior year in high school to document a trip my friends and I were taking to San Francisco.  I had no idea how to correctly work my camera, but instantly fell in love with the concept of capturing moments in an artistic way.  I became obsessed with photographing anything and anyone willing to get in front of my lens.  Still lifes, landscapes, pets, people.  People.  What started out as a passion for photography quickly turned into a passion for people and the love they share.  I can't put words to the feeling of capturing fleeting moments, celebratory tears, warm embraces,  or loving glances.  What I can say is how incredibly fulfilling photographing weddings all over the west coast for the past twelve  years has been.  I'm thrilled to have you here and can't wait to work with you!
