Hello Friends!

Today I’m going to talk about engagement sessions and why I think that they are so important when it comes to your  overall wedding day experience.  Actually, I’m going to go as far as saying that they are a MUST DO before your wedding day!  So if you’re a bride that’s wondering if an engagement session is something you want, let me enlighten you!

Here are the top 3 reasons why my clients LOVE engagement sessions!

1. Hair and Make-up trial for the Bride.

An engagement session is the perfect time to do a hair and make-up trial.  Why?  Because this is the only time before your wedding day that you’ll be able to see how your wedding look will photograph and if your stylists need to make any tweaks for the day of.

2. More time together in front of my camera.

Such an important one.  The more time you guys spend together in front of my lens, the more comfortable you’ll be on your actual wedding day.  Whether you’re a bride or groom, stepping in front of the camera can be an intimidating experience for some.  I’ll know exactly what you do and don’t want without the pressures of having a busy wedding day schedule in the back of your mind!

3. It’s SO much fun!
I can go on and on talking about how much fun I have with my clients.  I can honestly say that my clients have become good friends and I really owe it to the time we spent together at their engagement shoots.  I really feel like there needs to be a connection between a wedding photographer and his or her clients.  It’s super important for me to get to know you, but I also think it’s equally important for you as a couple to get to know me as well.  This way, by the middle of your shoot, it’s basically a bunch of friends just hanging out and taking some snap shots.  You wouldn’t believe that this fun experience can be done on a wedding day, busy schedule and all!  But it so can!  With the proper time-line planning, I have had some of the funnest wedding day experiences with my clients.

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT Justin

I've always been drawn to all things creative, but didn't pick up a camera until my senior year in high school to document a trip my friends and I were taking to San Francisco.  I had no idea how to correctly work my camera, but instantly fell in love with the concept of capturing moments in an artistic way.  I became obsessed with photographing anything and anyone willing to get in front of my lens.  Still lifes, landscapes, pets, people.  People.  What started out as a passion for photography quickly turned into a passion for people and the love they share.  I can't put words to the feeling of capturing fleeting moments, celebratory tears, warm embraces,  or loving glances.  What I can say is how incredibly fulfilling photographing weddings all over the west coast for the past twelve  years has been.  I'm thrilled to have you here and can't wait to work with you!
